Holiday Stress Tips

It is November 22 which means Thanksgiving is tomorrow and Christmas & New Years are around the corner. If you’re like me, you are super excited to see the new year but before we can get to that we have many stressors coming our way (along with the joy of the Holiday Season!). Maybe your in laws are coming to town, or it’s your first Thanksgiving hosting dinner, or it’s your baby’s first Christmas or you are having a New Year’s Eve Party! No matter what is coming at you this holiday season..we have some tips that are simple yet the most effective way to stay in your right state of mind.

  1. Exercise – We know you are on the move 27/7 in November & December so you are probably exercising just by gift shopping! If not, make sure to get on the tread mill or take an evening walk with a friend if you live in a warmer climate. It will help keep you motivated & you will feel less guilty about eating all that yummy turkey.
  2. Sleep – DO NOT get less than 7 hours of sleep! You will regret it for days. Your body absolutely needs this time to replenish and get you ready for the day ahead.
  3. Drink H2O – This is probably my #1 rule: HYDRATION. Don’t let this one slip either. Your body is made mostly of water so you need to counteract for that wine! Or sweating while shopping. I promise you will feel better the more water you drink. Your body will thank you.
  4. Treat Yourself – Just because you are spending time & money on family does not mean to forget about you. Get a comfy hoodie from the Safety Girl site, throw something in your cart for you on Black Friday without feeling guilty or simply cut out one night of your time for a self pampering spa night!

These are just a few tips and tricks to keep you feeling your best this Holiday season. We love this time of year but it can get stressful! Enjoy your family, good food & great friends instead of feeling drained & stressed!
